Dear Mrs. L. Jones:
Hello, this is Roger Lewis. The kid you helped out 20 years ago. I am very thankful that you helped me get my life together.
I am now 35 years old, living in Edmonton Alberta with a family and kids all thanks to you. When I tried to steal your purse you took me to your house and I never stole anything ever again. Once that happened I got my shoes and a job mowing lawns. I went back to school to graduate and headed I off to collage to learn more about becoming and Astronaut. After many years of learning and training I got a spot at N.A.S.A. I have been to the moon and about to go to Mars if a few months and all thanks to you.
Thank-You for your time and if you want to contact me, my e-mail is [email protected]

My Wish
September 27, 2012
Brendin
If I had one wish that I could for anything, I would choose to have a world without wars. With this wish the world would be better and a bit easier. There would be many wonderful results from this wish, but also some bad results.
I chose to have a world without wars because tons of people go off to war but only a few come back with their lives to their families. The world would be easier because we wouldn’t have to worry about having to stay alive if a war is going on. One reason I chose this wish is because we have to give so much money to the military and without having to pay for the military the government can use the left over money for other things. Another reason for choosing this wish is because all the people that were serving for our country can come home to their families and not have to worry about getting shot. Without wars in the world the soldiers from the military won’t have to be gone for months at a time. A bad result of no wars in the world is that all the people from the military would now have no jobs and would need to find a new one. Another good reason of no wars in the world is that people from the military won’t have to be gone for months at a time.
So if I had one wish, I would choose to have a world without wars. Many good and bad things will come out of this wish. Globally the world would be a more superior place.

The Magical Paw
It was a sweltering evening in the small town of Hubli just off the coast of the Indian Ocean. As I breathe the air feels like sandpaper as it goes down my throat. I had just got finished at the market buying groceries for my mama so I started walking back home with the groceries in hand.
It took me about 7 minutes until I finally got all the way back home. I set down the groceries for mama and opened the door. I picked up the groceries and walked inside.
“Back so soon Srinath?” Exclaimed mama. I was putting away the groceries and then I heard my mom again.
“I need you to go and help your grandparents today.”
“Sure mama, I can do that right now. Bye I’ll be back tonight” I said as I walked out the door.
In about 5 minutes I got to their house. I knocked on the door and was greeted by my grandpa.
Once I was in side I went to the kitchen to make them food for lunch.
“What are you making in there Srinath?” Shouted my grandpa from the living room.
“I’m going to make some tomato chowder. It’ll be ready in a bit.” I started making the chowder by combining all the ingredients together in a small pot and put it on the stove. In just a few minutes the chowder was scorching so I took it off the stove. The smell of tomatoes filled the whole house up. When it was ready I then grabbed a ladle and scooped it out of the pot and into two dishes. The steam was rising from the two dishes of soup. I added my grandpa’s favorite pepper to his soup. I carefully grabbed the bowls and took them over to my grandparents and set them on the small stands beside them. I walked back and grabbed them each a glass of water.
“Anything else you need from me today?” I requested.
“I do need the attic to be cleaned. If you could do that it would be wonderful.” Responded grandma.
“I’ll get right to it.” I answered as I grabbed a stepladder and headed to the hatch in the ceiling. I opened up the hatch and squeezed my way through it. I was swallowed by all the cobwebs I had seen. There were spiders crawling up and down the dust filled boxes. I started off by grabbing a medium sized wooden crate. It held a solid gold statue of my grandma winning a bowling tournament. It was about 2 feet tall and weighed around 60 pounds, no wonder it was kept in a crate. I brushed the crate off with a small brush and placed it behind me. I continued on by picking up a small cardboard box filled with pictures. They had a such thick coating of dust and grime I could barely make out the faces. The pictures were of my mama’s and uncle’s childhood.
After about 10 minutes I found a tiny box tucked behind a cabinet. Inside was something that looked like a paw. I gazed at it wondering what it was. It gave me chills whenever I held it in my left hand. It felt to be moving as if it was still alive. I crawled down the hatch and walked over to my grandparents.
“Do either of you know what this is?” I asked.
“Oh, yes! It is a paw from a monkey. I got it at the market from a guy in a small shack. He told me it was special but held a curse. It could grant 3 wishes to 3 different men. I was told to beware of its great powers it had.” My grandpa replied.
“May I have it?” I asked.
“Of course you can! If you are to wish for something, just raise your hand with the paw in it and just wish it’s just that easy.” My grandpa responded. I went back to cleaning up the attic.
After the whole attic was cleaned of all its dust I found a few books on cooking and a picture of my grandparents wedding. In total it took me around 2 and a half hours to clean it all up.
“Bye grandma and grandpa. I’m heading back home I’ll be back tomorrow.” I said feeling exhausted.
That night I sat in bed thinking deeply about the paw. I set it down on the dresser beside my bed. I stared at it wonder what I could wish for and if it would actually come true. I spend an hour just sitting wondering how big of a change could come from it. It took me many hours to fall asleep but all I was thinking about was that paw.
That morning I still felt exhausted from yesterday. I hopped out of bed and lunged for the paw. Today I would see if my wishes can come true. I knew exactly what I wanted. I raised my hand with the paw in it.
“I wish I had 1000 rupees for my family.” I sat back down on my bed waiting patiently for the wish to come true. I waited a total of 1 hour but nothing happened.
“Bye Srinath, I’m heading to work. I’ll see you when I come home.” Mama said as she walked out the front door.
The day was half over and I then knew the paw didn’t work. I placed it on my dresser and headed back to my grandparents for the rest of the day.
I walked all the way to my grandparents and walked inside.
“Good after noon, Srinath.” My grandma said as she sat on her chair. I walked into the kitchen to make them food when all of a sudden I hear a knock at the door.
“Can you get the door, Srinath?” Shouted my grandpa. I walked over to the door and opened it up. Outside stood a tall man dressed in a black suit holding a large bag full of something.
“Are you Srinath?” The tall stranger asked.
“Yes. Is everything alright?” I replied.
“I’m afraid hot. I was asked to come here. It’s about your mother. She was in an accident. She was at work when one of the machines in the back room started a fire. The whole building was up in flames in an instant. Every worker was killed. I’m very sorry about your loss.” He said. The tears started running down my face. I tried holding them back but they were too strong.
“We give you 1000 rupees as a token for having your mother work for us.” He said handing me a tan bag full of 1000 rupees.
Her funeral pasted four days later. I walked down to the cemetery with my grandma and grandpa at noon to see her grave. I read it. Here lies Bertha Williams. My grandparents and I each placed 2 flowers down on her grave to remember how grateful she was. Then we walked back home
When I got back I made them both some sandwiches for lunch and then headed into my bedroom.
“I guess this paw can actually give me my wishes. I think I will wait to wish again. I don’t want anything else bad happen.” I thought to myself while looking at the paw. I placed the paw back down on the edge of my side table and fell asleep for a few hours.
That morning I woke up bright and early feeling extremely confident with the wish in my head. I would wish for 3 goats for myself to have. I raised my hand with the paw in it and made the wish.
“I wish I had 3 goats for myself.” I said as I waited for it to happen. This time the wish didn’t come true even after 5 hours unlike the other one.
I came over to my grandparents to and said good morning but I noticed something very strange with them. They sounded sick and they had a bad cough. I was worried something has happened to them. After that I headed to the market to pick up some stuff. I then headed down to the cemetery to see how my mama was doing.
After my day at the cemetery and the market it was already 5 pm. When I got home there was a doctor checking up on my grandparents.
“I’m afraid to say you grandparents are diagnosed with lung cancer and may not make it through it.” She said.
I then walked to my room fell down on my bed. I was too tired to do anything else.
I woke up that morning having a bad feeling about something. I walked over to their room but they weren’t there. I started crying knowing they hadn’t made it. When all of a sudden I heard a knock at the door. I opened the door and outside was a short man with 3 goats.
“I found these 3 goats in my house. I was told you wanted them. If you would like to have them their all yours.”
“No thanks. “I replied. I walked back to my room and grabbed the paw. I knew all this has come from this paw. I had one wish to stop it all. I sat down on my bed and raised my hand.
“I wish this all would go away.” I fell back on my bed, shut my eyes and fell asleep.
It took me about 7 minutes until I finally got all the way back home. I set down the groceries for mama and opened the door. I picked up the groceries and walked inside.
